Live Klezmer Music
About the Bands
Klezmer Creek has been playing public festivals and private events over 15 years in Sonoma County. One of our favorite gigs was a monthly engagement at Gaia's Garden restaurant for about 10 years. Our sound is traditional klezmer acoustic-style; repertoire includes Freylachs, Bulgars, Horas, Israeli, and Sephardic music. We play some bluegrass for fun, and folks really enjoy it. Core instrumentation is Clarinet, Trumpet, Mandolin, Bass, Hand drum.
Sonoma County Klezmer has been playing lively music for about 5 years at many festivals and Jewish Community events. The band plays much of the same music as Klezmer Creek with fewer slow tunes, and the addition of lively Chabad music. Instrumentation includes Clarinet, Trumpet, Mandolin, Electric Guitar, Upright Bass, Full Drum Kit.
Klezmer is generally comprised of Eastern European, Israeli, Yiddish, Sephardic, and other traditional Jewish Music. This genre of music is fundamental to seasonal and life-event celebrations: holidays, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, anniversaries. Klezmer adds life and upbeat vibes to farmers' markets, bbq's, and neighborhood parties.
